It’s going to come out all right—do you know?
The sun, the birds, the grass—they know.
They get along—and we’ll get along. -Carl Sandburg

Thank you for your kindness. This is our latest fur son, Fausto, adopted in 2019.

Remembering Ren and Stimpy, my two rescue cats from the streets of Manhattan. They both passed away in Vancouver in 2017. You will always be loved, my babies. You will always be missed.

The night silently folds down through lilac clouds with bright jewels lighting its way, leaving us in the past as it leads us to another day. A moment has come and gone.

A great start to the weekend. Fausto during and after a catnip frenzy with his toy bunny.

Happy Weekend! And here's Fausto, the peeking puss, who thinks he's hiding.

Yesterday, down at the lagoon, there was a busy convention of ducks and geese. It's good to see the water has recovered from a dense infestation of algae that had spread out far and wide. Their conversations were a delight to hear, and it's wonderful to have them back again, all the wee dinosaurs.

Got up for a minute at 6:48 a.m. today. A magical moon was ushering in the beginning of another day. Timing is indeed everything.

I discovered this tile hanging from a tree yesterday. Agreed, but you could also say a cat or any other animal, for that matter. They are often the best relatives of all.

Two new mini dinosaur pals from the other day. They never fail to bring me a spot of joy on my walks and always remind me that timing is everything. I had seen three young raccoons and a skunk close up earlier this week when I changed direction at the last minute. You never know what wonder awaits.

Sometime in the night, an elusive light comes flashing by
A four a.m. picture, reflections in an eye, and fantasy haunts soft illusion with a sigh. The stars know secrets; they know them well in the hushed dark places where they fell, and
quiet faces never tell.

“The world is beautiful and dangerous, and joyful and sad, and ungrateful and giving, and full of so, so many things. The world is new and it is old. It is big and it is small. The world is fierce and it is kind, and we, every one of us, are in it.”

Duck symbolism is rich and varied, generally representing adaptability, emotional balance, harmony, and family. Their ability to navigate both water and air symbolizes a transition between the spiritual and physical realms, as well as knowledge and hidden truths.

While walking on the seawall at high tide I often see unusual objects perched on the top of large rocks. Some things remain for years while others are but brief moments of wonder. Kind of like life, timing is everything.

Remembering Ren & Stimpy. Our fur babies were rescued from the street in the Lower East Side of Manhattan by a group I volunteered with for ten years. They came with us when we moved back to Canada, but unfortunately, both passed away in 2017 from complications of old age. In our hearts forever.

According to Fausto, a "black cat person" is described as a person who gets more solace in spending time alone and being pensive, but is also very, very loyal, very affectionate, and kind, and listens well. Spot on, baby boy.
