Yeah this mean teams participating really raises questions inclusivity vs excellence in the priorities of the tournament.

Attendance is only there for atmosphere. These are purely television products at this point. People barely attend in person but even least viewed games get a million TV viewers. It's why soundstages seem the next logical progression of hosting these non-playoff bowl games.

It's a stadium smaller than an MLS stadium and smaller than either participating team's home stadium. It comes off as very small-time.

Can a new coach fix not getting a decent QB on the team (besides leading a tank)?

There's a lot more unsuccessful NFL coaches than successful ones. If the Steelers replace Tomlin, the odds are better that they hire a coach worse than him. If being bad is the plan to get a high draft pick QB, I suppose that makes sense. But getting a better coach isn't close to a sure thing.
