Normal maps for 2D lighting are so cool!

I just threw this little demo together with an old sprite and an auto-generated normal map. Imagine how much better the results could be with more compatible art and a hand-drawn normal map!

It's the VCX-820 Escort Freighter, in case you were wondering. I'm pretty sure it only ever appeared in the book that introduced it. Doesn't make a lot of peoples' list, but it's one of my favorites!

A while back I was working on a Stratego clone in Monogame as a learning project. I decided to theme it with obscure Star Wars ships for fun. Never got around to finishing the game, but I like how this one turned out!
