I guess it's a quite recent slang use, meaning to talk a lot with someone about random things but not in a bad way, more like for example "let's catch up and yap" haha

do you mean the DLCs? Or the custom items? DLCs will be sent out through the fundraiser - they are being completed for next game update now.
