Got a much needed week off work with a couple of days where OH is still in work. I am determined not to A) get dragged into work issues (as often happens), B) waste time doing nothing, although some amount of nothing is acceptable, C) let a list of chores take over. Planning restorative activities.

Anyone know if you can take a dog into Stockroom?

I found an old Super Nintendo (SNES) & Sega Master System II at my parent’s house. Had to source some cables for them but incredibly both work perfectly. The Sega cables turned up the morning, 35 years old with original controller & it still works like it’s brand new.

If you've missed it, then this emotional goodbye from the ITV cycling team who present the Tour De France is worth watching.
Feels very heartfelt and left a lump in my throat.
They're going to be missed🥲🥲🥲

Back from a toasty weeks camping trip in the southern Lake District, straight into the local for some much needed refreshments after battling the M60!

Stockport really does feel like it’s having a bit of a resurgence, so many cool looking places opening up & new development going on.

For those who recommended Sticky Fingers to me, I doff my cap! 👌 Biscoff Cheesecake & a chocolate doughnut (because I’m a sucker for a doughnut).

Can anyone recommend a great place for a decent coffee & cake in Stockport? It’s a certain someone’s birthday & they fancy a treat whilst in town.

Got out for a few hours ride on the White Peak Loop today. Leisurely ride out from Blackwell Mill (Buxton) to Rowsley & back. First time riding the Bridleway on the other side of the Monsal Trail, made for some nice riding & I’ll be back for a longer ride soon! 👍🚲

I’ve never had a bike setup tubeless till now, just learnt a valuable lesson. Went to put some air in & realised the valve was gummed up, got some replacements and a tool, didn’t think that having the valve at the bottom was a bad idea….

The Ribble has been playing out in the Derbyshire sunshine today, testing out some new bags for a mini bike packing trip I’m planning.

Reform UK's Stockport branch removes its website after being accused of using fake AI people and even faker quotes.

Reform UK have no Stockport councillors, so claims their policies have made a difference locally seem a little optimistic.

Looks awful up there, helicopter just went over carrying a water bucket, the sky has the colour of danger. The moors are burning again.

Something a little bit different today, Stockport Morris dancing celebration.

Sad to see my trusty eMTB go off to its new home today. Three bikes now whittled down to one. I am now fully invested in the one bike to rule them all eGravel concept!

Has anyone been up over Old Road be Combes Moss to/from Buxton since the improvement work has been completed on the rough bit towards Buxton? Wondering what condition it is in now as was on the MTB last time I used it.

Having converted the majority of short car trips in their cities to the more scale-appropriate bicycle, the Dutch are now looking further afield to tackle traffic congestion. The next frontier of infrastructure in the Netherlands is a national network of doorfietsroutes or “nonstop cycling routes”.🧵

I voted Labour, I am not a driver, assuming the government I voted for is not on my side then…
Our Labour government is on the side of drivers.

This Easter, over a thousand miles of roadworks will be lifted to make journeys smoother, and thanks to Labour’s Plan for Change, drivers are set to be £500 better off ✅

You've probably seen that we're organising a ride in memory of Tim @timcyclesthecoast.bsky.social, who tragically lost his battle with his mental health and took his life earlier this year. (I'm aware that not everyone has seen the news).

Details of the ride are here: timcyclesthecoast.com

Just learnt about the tech used to decrease tyre pressure for the cobbles when they press a button & then it can re-inflate for the road via wheel rotation! 🤯 #ParisRoubaix

Just in case I’ve missed something, is the only way I can watch the Paris-Roubaix (& other cycling) this year with an expensive sub to discovery+ premium or TNT Sports in the UK?
