Evidence shows that bursaries play an important role in attracting and retaining high-quality candidates, particularly in schools serving disadvantaged communities. Ensuring financial barriers don’t deter talented individuals from joining the profession must remain a priority.

We are disappointed by the government's decision to reduce ITT bursaries. Supporting new teachers into teaching is vital for maintaining a diverse, skilled and motivated workforce.
