Look dog I’m not saying that it’s not real, just that it’s not verifiable unless you saw it early and maybe being aware of what’s possible with the software is a good thing ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I know there are bills to pay but gotta say that transitioning directly from making fun of Alex Jones into a lengthy ad read for Brain Pills™ kinda strains credibility
Do you guys think the guy from Decembrists has ever just popped a cold one with his boys or is he stuck in-character spilling ale from the cistern and whatnot
On my bingo card for this big address - no audience - looking straight down the camera - right eye significantly bigger than left as he tries to read the prompter - awkward pause as he prepares to try to pronounce the name of a strike site - “beautiful” re: American bombs - ad-libbed threats
Look I know clickbait has been an unsolved problem for 15+ years and sometimes truly great people are forced into pumping out all-caps mouth-open neon-background thumbnails just to survive but I do hope we can all learn to clock and skip obvious AI slop. Don’t give these freaks a reason.
I think it’s so cool that someone in the pentagon is having a deadly serious emergency meeting right now about what impacts the mean tweets could have on military readiness 😌
Anyway if things /do/ continue apace we’re going to hit the socialism-or-barbarism event horizon much faster than anyone wants, and my moneys on barbarism
Personally I think the “adapt or die”grift will be relatively short-lived, since “prompt engineering” is itself easily, obviously replaceable by a well-tuned LLM. If we lose our jobs doing the work ourselves, they’ll lose their jobs asking the computer to do the work for them too.
The ghouls who want to tell you how to automate your small business marketing because people who don’t learn AI tools will be left behind are all soulless freaks who would be equally happy selling you nootropics, and it sucks that their dogshit personalities don’t actually mean that they’re wrong.
It’s hard to get a sense of the future impacts of AI because on one hand it really is a “transformative” (derogatory) technology and on the other hand all the people who boost it are uniformly the least personally curious, most cynical, snake-oil-salesman-ass individuals our sick society can create.
I also don’t know what purpose these changes serve, other than Craig gets to play with his toys and write everyone so he personally would like them better as people? At least until The Plot takes over and they have to Do Atrocities because at the end of the day he /is/ on rails here
It’s pretty wild how consistently Craig Mazin’s changes to TLOU undermine the characters. It’s like he wants to be writing a different show but he’s still bound to hit the major story beats from the game, and the result is a lot of muddled relationships and confusing motives
