sumire is a kasugai lychee gummy to me. fruity and floral

he'd go for a scent that touches the space just above their collarbone, something he can only notice when he's close enough to feel them. something warm. like traces of black cedar or smoked sandalwood. it ends up settling on him, too.

if he finds himself stuck in a series of them he'll set a timer to wake up to prevent having them. he's suffered nightmares for the majority of his life, however, and isn't immune to them when they do happen.

typically, he won't struggle with falling asleep. he has techniques that enforce sleep even in noisy or harsh conditions. times where this might be ineffective is post-nightmare.

that's not to say they're not registered unconsciously. unfamiliar footsteps or an unusual pace would easily wake him. desmond doesn't necessarily sleep so much as he enters a state of temporary stasis. he can be ready to go in an instant and never needs time to wake up.

11. desmond's a very light sleeper. it comes naturally, through decades of constant exposure to fight or flight. he can wake in an instant, but still get decent rest despite this. although he's able to recognise some noises as safe in his sleep, (car horns, people talking, distant music) -

there are few things desmond craves, what with him being highly disciplined. he's capable of going without a large variety of things, but has decided after all these years life isn't worth living if you're willing to make do with a cold or shit cup of tea.

1. good tea. it might sound ironic, but desmond is a big fan of tea and fully believes you can mess up making it. he drank a fair share in his travels, of shit tea, that is, and will go out of his way for a good one. he enjoys the smaller things in life, as much as others might laugh at him for it.
