It’s silly but I’ve been working on this Chivalry 2 K/D for months now because the volume is so high lol. Finally broke 1.0 by the skin of my teeth. For Argon.

My simulator streamer is now able to shut down the running instance from Mac, and the website will clear out the video stream automatically instead of hanging on to the last frame. Getting closer to session management.

Also: elastic IP set up so I can bookmark dev site, moved some UI around.

Health insurance in the US is fun because you can make graphs like this, and attempt to predict precisely how much you'll spend on health in a given year (both in and out of network) to choose the best option.

LinkedIn post got an actually good-looking picture of me, but Bluesky gets a silly action shot. I had a blast talking about @expo.dev and EAS workflows at React Native Boston! Here's me getting animated about how Expo made my original presentation obsolete by shipping too many cool features lol.

I’ve been reading through the web version of Crafting Interpreters (nice to code side-by-side), but the illustrations were so good and the content is amazing - so I bought the book to support and to really enjoy the details.

Sometimes people ask me for my opinions about React Native tech and it's basically just this.
Panel 1: "Hi! My name is Jason". Panel 2, second person: "Ah! Nice to meet, you Jason". Panel 3, the person is taking that name and trying to jam it into their brain, where there are already some squares in their cartoon head. A small rectangle says "friends", a small one says "family", and a much larger one is the Expo logo. The first person's name is squished going in, clearly not sinking in. Panel 4, second person: "Say Jarvis, wanna hear about building truly universal native apps with React ath run on Android, iOS, and the web?"

A twitter screenshot from @TkDodo - the first tweet says What's the scenario 😅? The benefit is that every time someone uses them, it might backfire later. There are mostly two usages: 1) Write data to local state / redux / zustand etc. This is a) an anti-pattern and b) will get out-of-sync as soon as you read data from cache only Second tweet says: 2) use it to display success / error notifications, which breaks as soon as you use the same hook in two components, because each component calls the callback ... You'll wind up with multiple notifications, which is unwanted Half a reply is cut off but it’s less relevant
