This weekend is the @bikewinnipeg.bsky.social town hall on Saturday November 1st at 3 pm at the Big Red Church in Elmwood. Anyone interested in the state of cycling should attend and help shape what Bike #Winnipeg should do in the future.
And here is last week's episode, "The Future of #Winnipeg Cycling," discussing about the November 1st @bikewinnipeg.bsky.social townhall with board chair, Benjamin Meek. #Activetransportation broadcast-storage.umfm.com/NNTA-E-92-25...

Failed state.
Breaking on MSNBC:

Two federal prosecutors have been placed on leave at the direction of the White House after filing a sentencing memo seeking 27 months in prison for a pardoned Jan. 6 rioter who brought illegal guns and ammunition to President Obama's house in 2023.

Very interesting that Trump generally saves his "low IQ" insults for certain types of people. Really makes you wonder.

In this era of hyperlocal, artisanal everything - never mind renewed Canadian patriotism - the failure of MLSE to sell this unique game in Canada’s largest market suggests they should bow out.

Not the Canadian rules in a Canadian game.

The fact that the CEO on live television said they didn't really have a plan since they assumed the government would force the striking workers back to work tells you all you need to know about the bad faith management had in this negotiation.
The Air Canada workers demanded fair compensation and went on strike and the gov tried to shut the strike down through forced arbitration. They defied the order and had a wildcat strike. Despite the media pushing a corporate narrative the public supported them and they won.

The tide is changing

I don't like Newsom but this is well said.
Newsom: "He's a failed president. Who else sends ICE at the same time we're having a conversation like this? Someone who's weak. Someone who's broken. Someone whose weakness is masquerading as strength."

Did nobody at the Free Press think to ask mayor Gillingham why he voted down an amendment extending the same protections to people who live on and around Wellington Cres on a similar timeline?

Also please watch Aro's delegation where she recounts the councils own words back to them to showcase how the council is using all mechanisms to delay what should be a non political decision: to install an isolated bike that's be called for, for 15 years. youtu.be/URqmCMIcFd4?...

I've never been more disappointed in our current elected @cityofwinnipeg.bsky.social officials than I've been today. A complete disregard for the protection of human life. Hats off to Councilor Rollins and Gilroy for supporting the amendment.

Another needless delay. While compromise is necessary, I question why it is those who are most vulnerable who constantly have to pay the price.
