3. Racism is a legacy of slavery. Reparation £ can be used to repair its harms & address its causes.//Meanwhile, the 1830s slavery compensation scheme loan was finally paid off in 2015, hence many Black Britons had to repay the loan used to compensate those who enslaved their ancestors.

2. In the Caribbean, suggested forms of reparation aren't usually compensation paid to individuals, but returning land that was used for slavery plantations/addressing the diabetes crisis (an intergenerational legacy of enslaved people's diets)/ funding slavery research centres..

2. The current rhetoric of those who mobilise racism for political gain proposes that those who investigate colonial history and modern racism are the problem. Not racism itself.

3. Meanwhile Jenrick says he's concerned that "people are living parallel lives". Yet his home county identifies as 96.9% white and his constituency identifies as 98% white. The parallel universes in his own back yards speak volumes. Meanwhile, Handsworth is one of Britain's most diverse areas.

It's Jenerick who isn't integrated. 96.9% of Hertfordshire (location of his family home) identify as white (far higher than the national average). Handsworth is one of the most mixed areas in the country

If it's 'not about' skin colour, #RobertJenerick could move to a more mixed area (ethnicity stats for his Herefordshire family home):
"An overwhelming 96.9 per cent of the population said they were white." (Source, Herefordshire Times on the 2021 census)
