Yo I'm gonna drop it cause I feel like I am just gonna make things more stressful for him and escalate it further, and I don't wanna do that to him. I will just say that I genuinely think you're being mean and should just let people be, or at least censor their username at the very least.
September 8, 2025 at 6:10 AM
Thanks bro
September 8, 2025 at 6:04 AM
Ok but you didn't think it was someone other people had bad experiences with when you posted it! It was a random dunk on a random dude who couldn't defend himself. The game doesn't matter here because I'm talking about your behavior, not the game itself. I'm not getting sidetracked by that.
September 8, 2025 at 6:04 AM
Bro tell me straight up you don't think it's weird for a 100k+ subscriber YouTuber to post (what he thought was) a random guy's take on a different platform where they can't defend it and just have to watch everyone in your replies dunk on them. Tell me that's not discouraging for discussion.
September 8, 2025 at 6:00 AM
And also you're liking tweets talking bad about him, making demeaning comments, etc. You clearly have a grudge lol
September 8, 2025 at 5:55 AM
If you don't see how dunking on strangers who have different interpretations than you is mean, rude, and weird then idk. If I was talking about a game only to see 100k+ YouTuber posted my takes and didn't even give me a chance to defend myself, I would be so reluctant to talk about that game again.
September 8, 2025 at 5:53 AM
If you didn't realize it was him then it's even weirder because after I called you out on it you cited his past behavior as a justification. If this was a totally random stranger in your mind and you just posted their opinion and username as a free easy dunk they couldn't respond then that's nuts.
September 8, 2025 at 5:50 AM
What he did has nothing to do with what I'm saying though. I'm talking purely about your actions, and you going out of your way to bring up an old grudge when your name wasn't even brought up, and once again try to silence discussion on the game by appealing to the moral high ground.
September 8, 2025 at 5:23 AM
There's no way you don't see how you've directly contributed to shutting down and smothering discussion around this game when you're doing stuff like this.

I don't care how someone interprets The Medium, but this policing over people interpreting it a way that goes against the online agenda, and this moral policing over the story being "harmful" is beyond goofy and disrespectful to art.
September 7, 2025 at 5:29 AM
I also don't believe there is harm in a piece of art having a crushing or sad conclusion. I'm one of the most depressed person I know, and I genuinely love "harmful" stories, because it gives me an honest sense of catharsis and insight.
September 7, 2025 at 5:29 AM
The only reason a game like SH2 has its reputation is because people were allowed to interpret it however they wanted. I find Angela's ending to be crushing, but I'm sure there exists a strong interpretation showing a different side to it I didn't see before. We should encourage this for everything.
September 7, 2025 at 5:29 AM
Even if the game could be read in a potentially "harmful" light, then why wouldn't we prop up ways where it isn't read in that light? What if someone finishes the medium, sees discussion online about how the ending can be seen as beautiful, and takes away a positive message from that? Is that bad?

Objectivity in art is not a real thing. A story can be interpreted in many ways. The *only* thing that this type of rhetoric does is drive all context of the game towards one singular idea. Attitudes like this are the death of art and interpretation.
