Stained glass and Intermedia Artist, also a scientist, but retired from doing experiments. Advocate for sciart collaborations. Somedays, a philantropist, and somedays, a misantropist.
You are mistaken if you think he is just bluffing. And if he is, his allies are not. A convicted felon has no place in the world stage as a leader. Not now, not never. We don't want a WWIII. And he has been speaking about it even before getting elected.

You all may need this now. Hugo getting his rubber shoes to go on the frigging Canadian Winter.

As many of my community members had pointed out in the past, the use of LGBTQ+ flags in company's campaigns during June was always pure and lame b*lls licking.

Identify each one of those companies and make sure you ruin them by stop doing business with them.

In Winter, the artist gets to have a snooze while the prof comes in full out. Right now, I am teaching four courses, plus directing an independent study and acting as a principal researcher on a science-art education project that compromises groups and work in Egypt and Colombia.

Watching the only thing that still makes some sense in the world, art.

Definitely Blue Sky is making it easier to get to people.
Here is "Descanso en otoño" acrylic on canvas. Sparrows are beautiful birds that can be found everywhere in the Americas. They remind me of Chile but also make me aware of my own South/North belonging as Chilean-Canadian.

I haven't shown much work lately. But I have been pretty busy producing it. Not in glass this time, but over canvas. Painting.
This is "A Dancer's Dream" and is gonna be soon in the house of a loving owner.

#sciart posters I've designed.

In 2019, I invited Stefanie Blain-Moraes to speak during an annual event showcasing places of scientific practice for artists called the Black Box.
Stefanie is interested in biosignal's sonification to improve patient-caregiver with uncommunicative patients.

Matthew Halpenny, is an interdisciplinary artist & researcher interested in the ecologies of experience.

I based the #sciart #scicomm poster and artwork on his work with Physarum polycephalum. I used the form that the slime fungus adopts seeking food to write about Matthew's work.

Talking #SciArt

A few years ago I organized/maintained a series of talks for sciart-based professional practices.
I will share some of the posters I designed for those conferences. Enjoy!

This one is for Pamela MacKenzie and her PhD work on Nehemías Grew's book 'Anatomy of Plants.'
November 27, 2024 at 4:16 PM
Exactly! It was such an inspiring and fantastic talk. I designed a #sciart special poster just for her talk using paper flowers made with maps from the time Grew was in Leipzig.

Hey #art Butterflies, just sharing my work in progress. it is a gift for my sister who loves ballet. I am very excited about how it is going.

From elementary to university, you get a standardized #education (my course is a huge exception).

Graduate school may provide worthy experimentation, which depends strongly on the PI, the funding, and you. Unfortunately, capitalism is intrinsic.

When you risk and experiment, that is real learning.

I lead #Therma, a #sciart project in col. with artist E.Vanderburgh. Funded by #CCA Research & Creation grant, Therma explores #infrared (IR) radiation in #sciart practice.
The artworks include a 3-screen video, interactive installations & sculptures, & #ArtEd materials for artists interested in IR.

Hey Blue Butterflies! How often do you do absolutely nothing? And how hard is it for you to do it without feeling guilty?

Hey humans! I want to introduce my #sciart practice in #stained-glass. "A walk in the neuroscience garden," was delivered in Dec 2022 (comission).
Each flower in the garden was replaced with a neuroscience-related structure resolved by scientists and shared in the PDB database.

Artist vs. (some) Art
November 17, 2024 at 5:56 AM
Hey everyone! This is pretty exciting. I am flabbergasted for how fast people are joining and connecting.
I realized I barely know the people who are connecting with me. So, let me show you one of the #stainedglass I recently finished.
This is #Bjoruurk, part of the series called #NewMythologies
