A lovely reader left a really long 2-star review frustrated that my protagonist felt jealous that a man had peace he didn't have and basically berated (the protagonist) for not appreciating his life more and said that my book will now be donated to Goodwill.

I went from 36 reviews to 1000 from August 2024 until now.
How? I ran a small ad and found my readers. I've been publishing since 2017 but never tried to market my book until last fall. After watching a bunch of videos, I found a happy medium. I may scale up, I may not, but either way, yay!
