Once I learned more about the history of saying "bless you" after sneezing, I realized that interrupting everyone around me with loud noise is rude. So *I* began saying "excuse me!" after sneezing, and just don't respond when others do it.

Most people kinda get the logic, but it's a DEEP habit...
