The drive from Pittsburgh to Baltimore yesterday: rain, holy fuck rain, sun, misty mountains, holy shit where did the road go? Back and fourth for 250 miles. Folks driving in for MD Deathfest, drive safe!

We have about 27 more hours with Emma. I don't know what the first 12 years of her like were like, but I know the last 6 have been wonderful. The past free weeks have been full of outside time, ice cream, and a million snuggles. I think she's ready.

Emma's going to the groomer today to get ready for her big party on Tuesday to celebrate her 6th gotcha day and 18.5 birthday.
We've only got a couple more weeks with her, and I'm going to make them count. Because she's the best girl.

The very first piece of art that really moved me as a child.
I was absolutely struck by the movement achieved in a 2-d static painting and want to be an artist from that day. It was nice visiting it again today as an adult artist to say thank you.

The Anti-Claus tree topper I made about ten or so years ago. Face is sculpted and painted polymer clay. Tiny fabric hand sewn clothes. Innards are wire, foam, and a paper towel tube.
