I'm pretty sure they were making a joke that agrees with you

i.e. (establishment) democrats are just republicans who are fine with gay people (sometimes)

they really would go to any lengths to be able to blame a black woman for something

jokes on them im gay AND work in tech

I was very out of the loop of what happened here so the transition between reading the first sentence and the second sentence was such extreme whiplash

I think technically you could by forcing someone to go to a member country, but that assumes the country that was offended against us a member

and also ignores the hague invasion act so lol

"I haven't had a vacation day in two years"

right... how many days were you in DC with the house in session during the shutdown again?

I KNOW AND IT IS SO ANNOYINGGGG

it was better even just a year or two ago, because game companies would always mean game AI, but now it's absolutely not clear anymore

the internet was disruptive and also took 15-40 years to do it.

on the other hand, when the internet got overhyped about its future promises, the .com bubble happened.

tech takes *time* to disrupt. when people push an unproven technology too quickly and inject $$$ into it, it fails.
November 26, 2025 at 8:17 PM
it also makes it very difficult to look at job applications lol.

an AI engineer at a game studio is 80/20 a very different thing than a software company's AI engineer lol

I mean I'm glad you are rightfully skeptical, but it's not exactly the most reassuring thing to have literally the entire US economy held hostage on the hope it'll destroy people's job prospects in the future.
November 26, 2025 at 7:43 PM
yeah, obviously, but that's not how the technology is being pushed because it's not industry shaking if that's all it is.

its being pushed as a dedicated coding agent that you can completely defer tasks to. and is receiving funding as if it's capable of doing that now.
November 26, 2025 at 7:21 PM
yes, that is how I use them too! (though they honestly aren't that great IMHO)

but that's not how they're being pushed. they're being pushed as dedicated coding agents. which is my entire point

Additionally, OpenAI argues its not liable because Raine, by using ChatGPT for self-harm, broke its terms of service

yeup. and lots of good is going to be taken out in the crossfire. and it's ENTIRELY on the people who blindly push it now.

when people start to feel any AI is repulsive because of how it's pushed, you can't suddenly be surprised when people want to get rid of all AI.
November 26, 2025 at 8:37 AM
see this is the problem though. there are actually useful technologies being made. but instead of treating it like experimental early tech that needs to be refined, we are injecting trillions of dollars into it and just hoping for the best.

tech bros, as always, ruin potentially interesting tech.
November 26, 2025 at 8:36 AM
you seem to be leaving out the biggest part of this. none of those things you reference pretend to be a plug-and-play instant solution. you have to use critical thinking and experience to actually utilize it.

LLMs do. people think they can use it as is without needing review or critical thinking.

its always helpful when the context is right above a post, thanks for you feed
November 26, 2025 at 2:02 AM
well, I suspect we won't see any of it. because Trump conveniently asked the DOJ to reopen the investigation. and the bill that got signed specifically has an exception for anything relevant to an ongoing investigation.
November 20, 2025 at 2:56 AM
yeah they should also put up bills for anti-two-party-system voter reform too, but the current democratic party would literally never do any of this.

it's funny how he is saying this is to make it so health insurance companies don't make so much money

and his solution

is to make people pay the health insurance companies this amount directly
