Still unsure if the art was changed or if it's just printing stuff. In my head the shading looked radically different but I guess not. My photography doesn't help much, these are right next to each other under the same lights tho. Trade on left, single on right

There is at least one HUGE difference. The end of issue 2 ends right before this famous scene www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVy_... and then issue 3 skips the battle entirely!! The trade has it, though. 8 pages, no numbers or credits on em. Seems to be the same artist as usual, according to the forward

So one reason I got back into buying these dubious USA comic adaptations is I had a suspicion there might be differences between the singles and the trade. I think I was correct. But it's more subtle than I thought...mostly. color temp? Paper and ink difference?

The credited artist is Bruce Lewis who I couldn't spot any obvious info about from a quick search. The art changes, perhaps for the worse, as it goes. Theres a weird thing where the faces get little white dots on them, I can only imagine this was a weird choice or misunderstanding of highlights?

So these are CPM's western...pseudo original comics. They were doing this a bit back then. The A-ko ones are more well known and not even that bad. Gall Force here I have never been able to see the inside of on the internet. I will start to change that now.
