That was the but I didnt get to. What matters once you have tech secure passwords is people dont write them down, fall for phishing attacks and all the other social manipulation ways technically secure systems are broken. Constant changing passwords can make it worse. You need human-centred security

Shannon's information theory gives a theoretical basis of such stats as described in the blog, (turn entropy into probability) but search for papers on empirical studies of password security and you will find a variety of research eg from this year link.springer.com/chapter/10.1... but ...
