Canadian veterinarian, and can’t turn away from the train wreck of US politics
Nah, the signs along the portico just remind him where he is and what door to enter.

Can you expand on “performative suicide”?

41 out of 212 interdictions without contraband is not 1/4. It’s not even 1/5. It’s 19%

It’s not news, and it would have added nothing new at the time. It’s, at best, colour commentary. Perfect for a book, but not news-worthy. Barely even interesting, frankly

Likely before November with retirement and special elections

Imagine how personnel feel to see SecDef throw an underling under the bus…….Not good for military morale

Yeah. That’s about the best that can happen, since he’ll get his pardon.

So, then, no one who’s been in the country for more than 5 years.

True. Can he be impeached?

Ed Harris: History of Violence, Gone Baby Gone, Glengarry Glen Ross, The Abyss, Gravity, The Right Stuff, The Rock, Field of Dreams......and Westwood (TV, not the movie).

So, he has chronic venous insufficiency (reported this year) and a high calcium score indicating plaques (reported 2018), but he's in "excellent overall health"?

Sure, we'll buy that (eye roll).

Yup; that's why it was the title of an excellent book by Bill Brower.

No, it's not true that as a vet I Google answers to anything. I have trustworthy informational sources from other vets and veterinary specialists that I use if I need to learn something new.

I don't use AI either.

FIP doesn’t look like that
November 30, 2025 at 6:51 PM
I’m a vet, and I don’t say that. What are you talking about?

He’s losing, but they ignore those courts and appeal up to SCOTUS. They continue to ignore court orders while pretending they’re not. Sure, they’re losing, but it’s a meaningless loss. Expensive, but meaningless.

Even if he had a Red Notice, it would just mean he couldn’t travel to places he’s unlikely to go anyway, correct?
November 30, 2025 at 6:45 PM
The US would never allow Hegseth to be subject to any charge from the ICC, as the US is not a signatory to that system of justice. He wouldn’t need a pardon. Although there’s always the possibility of a Red Notice

The school must know the location of students who choose not to go to class? That seems very invasive……I understand knowing in class or not, but if a student isn’t in class it’s not their right to know where they are, in my opinion

They’ve ‘been very clear that they’re going to commit murder’….. That’s his defence?
November 30, 2025 at 3:45 PM
That’s who they’ve always been, they’re just bolder now

As minister Luccock said in 1938: “When and if fascism comes to America it will not be labeled 'made in Germany'; it will not be marked with a swastika; it will not even be called fascism; it will be called, of course, 'Americanism'.”

Trump is of the "who's gonna stop me?" school of dictatorship. He doesn't care what the laws are, and relishes his opportunity to delay a decision in court for years until it no longer matters.

The J6 committee did their job, and I didn't expect them to. So.....time will tell.
