I wonder if this is a systemic comfort influence - wherein forensic psych is a familiar approach in court systems and extremism/terrorism is harder for them to comprehend (and is inherently political). I hope there will be a review as it dilutes the wider extremist challenge that persists.

I am not discounting those influences, I have a forensic Psych degree, but this finding easily infers every type of violent extremism with small groups is delusional not terrorism. Delusion can be structured and informed by an extremist ideology, and more importantly activated by that ideology.

My research goes beyond the legal mumbo-jumbo to look at the security implications of sovereign and 'freedom era' beliefs. These folks criss-cross all demographics and political views. Some are opportunists, but a small minority are more concerning & confrontational, esp for police & local officals

Ok lets start flipping how we talk about Sovs in NZ. Take them away from a 'conspiracy' umbrella. Yes conspiracy packets shape their worldview & what they do. Yes there can be a latent threat within the belief system but HOW that is activated ( or if ) is a different conversation .#antigovernment
