Not that every thing is connected to adoption but… I wonder if having the term Bio-Mom in our lexicon influences us. I never considered a different pronunciation until I heard it recently and was totally thrown.

You have a cover one?!? I’m so jealous. When I first started TS w/o anyone on staff who had mending training I searched for book mending videos and they were all librarians with a cover one and I was like - I have a 70 yr old broken press, pva glue, knitting needles and filmoplast what the fuck.

I’m so glad - I know of too many libraries that create a teen space but don’t staff it adequately and only have floaters or people come in to reprimand.

I think whether this policy works this greatly depends on the presence and relationship the librarians bring to the area (is there even a dedicated teen librarian) - and I would be very interested in seeing how it compares to the conduct policy targeted at adults - is it a list of don’t as well?

And even if she was any/all of those things - a) what were the circumstances that put her in those positions. Often it’s trauma and organized abandonment. And b) you still should have the ability to know who she was, decide on how your relationship looked and know your origins.
