This technology cannot be made safe, it cannot be made useful at scale, it cannot be made ethical and it cannot be made benign. The only real choice is to avoid it and reject it to the extent that remains possible to us, and treat it all as a warning to value, and sharpen, our own human minds.

Fairly common when I was growing up, up north. But I dont see them all that often anymore. Still from time to time Costco and a few other places have them. They aren’t perfect but if outside a fair bit they really make a difference

(Ok it’s not that cold compared to the rest of Canada but I did my time in the godforsaken howling northern wilderness. I moved to southwest BC for a few reasons)

I mean yeah it’s just a little aluminum boat but he researched the hell out of this one and decided on a Spratley. It is set up exactly the way he wanted. Not a lot of his belongings affected me deeply when I went through them, but this does.
