It's also quite reasonable to assume that if any drug traffickers were killed in the unprovoked US naval engagements, one or more drug trafficking entities may have a strong incentive to "get back at" the US for the killings. I'm not sure we can trust only Madero to be 100% truthful at all times.

A major problem these days is social media apps being controlled by a ultra tiny number of fantastically wealthy hugely biased individuals who love to disguise profit motive and manipulative algorithms behind loud paeans to freedom of expression, hoping thereby to trick users into a stupor.

Trump Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick called Jeffrey Epstein, his former neighbor, the "greatest blackmailer ever."

Those comments are in direct contrast to the DOJ's findings this summer that there's 'no credible evidence' that Epstein blackmailed prominent individuals.

But instead he manages to produce something both less intelligible and less inspiring, while exuding an undeserved smugness.

I guess he forgot about all the millions of little ideas that had to occur in the minds of the thousands of people working on the Apollo program on a day-to-day basis, and the fact that as they execute those ideas they often reject or improve those ideas as they go along.

Excellent point. I'm surprised Speaker Johnson hasn't been telling the press that this is precisely the main GOP strategy for this shutdown, and the blame the Dems thing is just a bit of old fashiony de rigueur business as usual partisan bluster.

After seeing all the wrecking balls this clown at OMB is smashing into our Constitution and our institutions, plus the obvious purely Project 2025 partisan agenda, I feel like it's an afterthought to mention the incredibly inappropriate manner in which this doof communicates to the public.

Trump's speech (aka ramblings) to the top generals used a humongous American flag backdrop not much different than the one used in the Patton film in the scene where Patton gives a rousing speech to army soldiers preparing to head out to the European theater.
