Then if some choose to carry on...

9: Another return to form/ new start
10: A celebration, cult favourite
11: Rolling on, but too many?
12: Running out of ideas/ like 4, but more controversial.

And yes, you may probably work out which series I'm talking about based on numbers.

It's not always the no.4, but something about the 4th game of a series, either with a new gimmick or a total revamp feels like a special moment in time.

They're not all favourites nor do I dislike any, they just stand out for me. Maybe it was the late 90s/ 00s vibe that helped?

Was recently playing Dynasty Warriors 4 (or ShinSangokuMusou 3 for sequel counters), and I remembered enjoying it in an entirely different way to other DW games. (Soundtrack is a bop in particular)

It got me wondering - is the 4th sequel in many games unique, for good or bad?

I've just had an entire episode of MafsUK dumped as an ad on YouTube.

What is even the point of Google ads anymore? Have they given up?
November 9, 2025 at 1:36 AM
And it was largely the same for indie games (though they tend to dominate in horrorverse)...

5) South of Midnight
4) Warriors: Abyss
3) Kulebra & the Souls of Limbo
2) Hollow Knight: Silksong

1) #Cryptmaster

Especially after HoTD2 felt off, a worthy substitute. #31DaysOfHorror

There were several Londons? They did well to get 4 coins there.

All female team seem to do well at a lot of the challenges, so I'm surprised they'd feel down at losing one coin. They're bossing the series.

Day 28 of #31DaysofHorror and finally catching up. To celebrate, it's gotta be some zombies. Oh now they're having a Festival Of The Living Dead?

Games within games, in a life that may also be a game, in Is This Game Trying to Kill Me?

Day 27 of #31DaysofHorror dances with wolves.... or people dressed as wolves (at least it's not dogs this time) in Alma & The Wolf.

And after that HoTD 2 return the other day, I'm itching to type my way out of the horrors. Cryptmaster to the resc__.
October 28, 2025 at 9:18 PM
Day 26 of #31DaysofHorror is off to war, and yet again are extra threats in the trenches. It's vampires this time, in Children of The Night.

Another British fight on our hands in gaming, with evil Arthur to contend with in Sworn (the Gauntlet Legends in me marked out).

Day 25 of #31DaysofHorror is another lonely trek in the countryside, but this time coupled with amnesia in Die Alone. What a waste of food!

One game I wish was lonelier when going for 'walks' in the fog though is Mortisomem. Sprint, more like!

Day 24 of #31DaysofHorror has a wonderful time at the seaside, but of course some nutter in a mask has to ruin it in panto style with Punch.

Libraries aren't much safer either. Then again, they used the board in Fear The Spotlight, that's on them.
October 27, 2025 at 1:31 AM
Day 23 of #31DaysofHorror goes for a long walk in the quiet countryside with the aliens in Walking Against The Rain.

Feeling a bit Mexican for some reason tonight. Luckily there's Kulebra: Souls Of Limbo to fill that void (and it's Paper Mario shaped).
October 26, 2025 at 10:40 PM
Day 22 of #31DaysofHorror stops reminiscing about bad Disney and instead remembers Y2K, because that had to become a horror film at some point...

Then it's over to a Creepy Tale: Some Other Place (which I now only realise is part of a series of Creepy Tales.)
October 25, 2025 at 11:26 PM
Day 21 of #31DaysofHorror goes into the indie stretch with.... oh jeez... it's one of those. The Mouse Trap (there's three of these alone at least).

Luckily in indie games it's not such a dirty start, as teeth need to be cleaned in Mouthole.
October 25, 2025 at 10:06 PM
Day 19 along the #31DaysofHorror hides away in South Africa, and then realises I picked the wrong spot in Invasive.

And then, because I need to catch up on sleep, I thought about 40 Winks, but ended up getting trapped in nightmares instead...
October 24, 2025 at 7:43 PM
Day 18 into #31DaysofHorror and I actually managed to find an Irish entry I hadn't already seen. How Wickedly Evil of them.

And another remaster that's got me playing the original (with lots of green also) is System Shock 2. Escape time.
October 24, 2025 at 1:36 AM
Day 17 of #31DaysofHorror would've been when I was watching sumo, so off to Japan (or Monster Island) it is.

And as EGS provided the sequel, thought I might return to see how the invasion defence was coming along in XCOM: Enemy Unknown.
October 23, 2025 at 9:37 PM
Day 16 of #31DaysofHorror goes to Australia to pick up the kids before The Moogai gets to them.

Then I suppose it's time to visit an old favourite, either in remake form or the original (or maybe just get the keyboard out) with The House of The Dead 2.
October 23, 2025 at 1:03 AM
Oh my god. The music. The sign.

What a break from all the chaos in Cheshire. #Brookside is back!

October 22, 2025 at 6:11 PM
Day 14 in #31DaysofHorror goes to Thailand to catch up with the family and that dentist-ghost in Death Whisperer 2 (there were actually 3 Thai films to choose from, but I needed to finish this story).

Meanwhile, London's dealing with the Zombi invasion again, typical Wednesday.
October 22, 2025 at 3:21 AM
Day 13 of #31DaysofHorror goes to Canada (well, it actually goes inside people's minds), as we learn to cook the wrong way in It Feeds.

Then for a cursed retro, let's get vampiric with LoK Blood Omen II.
October 21, 2025 at 9:29 PM
Day 12 of #31DaysofHorror is a mashup of two countries, as it took both Germany and Norway to make Furries, blokes in mansions and/ or dog food scary in Good Boy.

Then it's time for a few quick (painless I'm sure) strolls around Heretic + Hexen.
October 21, 2025 at 12:13 AM
Been away from the soaps for some time (partly because of being outdoors a lot this year, partly because I didn't enjoy the direction some went in).

There's absolutely nothing that will keep me away from #Hollyoaks this week though. And of course, #Brookside! Happy 30th!
October 20, 2025 at 5:56 PM
Seeing the love for Dead Or Alive 4 after the late Itagaki... one thing I would add to it is just how great it was to reach the credits in that game (and DoA3 before it).

That Xbox/ Aerosmith trilogy, with that ending in particular was a fitting cap off to that era.
October 19, 2025 at 1:24 AM
This week....
I've seen the wrestling of Sumo.
I've seen the wrestling of CMLL & RevPro.
And now it's time for the Wrestling of Dreams.

And managed to get ahold of 10"(?) of Inoki-San at a Shotengai market, so extra invested in tonight. Do him proud!
