Things now definitely look pretty similar to the mid 90's, aside from supercomputers in our pockets (which we can't diminish). I can see how this might be a ceiling, as I think you're suggesting. I just don't think it is. I think it's a plateau and we'll be on the rise again very soon.

Fair, but I wasn't splitting hairs over which decades change occurred in. I agree that the last 30 years have seen less change and innovation than the prior 70. I've been writing JavaScript for about that long and it's not so different today.

It's been a particularly eventful 100 years, but in my opinion tech innovation is moving too rapidly to presume that we aren't on the precipice of massive change. I suspect sometime in the next 30 years AI and robotics will significantly alter/undermine most sectors of human endeavor and relations.
