Installed Unifi last night (from eero) and my god it’s so mind explody how much stuff there is to tweak.

Not sure I actually love or hate that…

I don't always build RAG pipelines, but when I do I use "campfire" chats from 2012 as my dataset.

One hasn't truly lived until one has tried to download AI models on a DSL connection.

Watching Claude interact with Beads makes me never want to touch an issue tracker ever again.

I can easily imagine a future where I sit down, give Claude some instructions for the day, and zone out while it just ... churns.

Not sure I like that version of the future...

My problem is I want to build too many things and AI isn’t making that any better.

Pretty telling that this guide to AWS Analytics at re:Invent includes so much SageMaker and so _little_ of things like EMR and Athena.

Heat pump vs. fireplace...fight!

Reminds me of the time when $startup had a massive outage and I flew coast-to-coast for Thanksgiving fighting fires the entire time. 🫠
I'm writing code on a bus.

What a world we live in!

Just the move from parquet to vortex gave us a massive perf boost. But more importantly, it opens up the path for way more. So much low hanging fruit now!
We completed a major project to switch our storage file format from Parquet to Vortex 🌪️ resulting in 70% average query performance improvement across the board 🚀

Learn more about how rethinking interface-imposed limitations unlocked these gains in our latest blog post 👇

Literally just ran into this. An entire page of results, only 1 of which was an actual organic result. 🫠

And its even worse than in the picture – the result was almost 2 scrolls below the fold and there were *more* sponsored results below it!

Reading a book about Alaska in the 1800’s and just thought “I could probably pack a tent in a jar file” so clearly I’ve been working too hard today… 🫠

Another day, another new repository. This time it's a repo that mostly just contains a setup script to install YuniKorn + Karpenter w/KWOK provider in a local kind cluster so I can test auto-scaling and queue configs.

The UDR7 is in my shopping cart...let's see if eero survives another day.
1 night of sleeping on it before finally giving up on Eero. They used to be so good, but my latest issue is just weird wifi speeds down to 5Mbps. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Sometimes I look down and see a thick, dark piece of beard hair in the sink and wonder ... why couldn't you have been one of the gray ones.

Haven't read it yet, but looks to be a good repo with Talos + K8s homelab setup. www.reddit.com/r/kubernetes...

I particularly like the example of exposing excalidraw.
