Posters make their own timeline, but they do not make it as they please; they do not make it under self-selected circumstances, but under circumstances existing already, given and transmitted from the past.

Dimon practicing some risk management here is a big tell.
Dimon on why JPMorgan Chase is not funding WH Ballroom:
We have an issue, which is anything we do, since we do a lot of contracts with governments here and around the world, we have to be very careful how anything is perceived, and also how the next DOJ is going to deal with it.

We are still, I assure you, New York Fucking City.
600 ICE agents were supposed to be deployed to Canal Street. Hundreds of New Yorkers gathered instead.

Hitler was bad.

An essay that, you know, I didn’t think I’d need to write.
Perry: The pro-Hitler problem with the American right
"We need to get back to the basics: Hitler was bad. The people who suggest otherwise are also bad," David M. Perry writes.

Went to see a play with nudity yesterday and they had the entire audience lock up their phones in those Yondr magnetic pouches that schools are using now. It worked really well, and now I'm wondering how long before movie theaters start doing this.

Reminder that it’s advice like this that has allowed physical, emotional, and sexual abuse to thrive hidden in families for years and kept children victims and adults completely absolved of accountability. Fuck this toxic shit.

Marc Maron cut CK off years ago because he asked him directly if he had done it and CK lied to his face. Why can't others have that basic level of integrity?
When a cancelled performer reënters the culture, we expect them to offer us a great work, channelling their newfound clarity into the finest art they’ve ever made. With his new comedy show and début novel, has Louis C.K. met the bar?

Louis C.K.’s Next Chapter

a few candidates have talked about this but any Dem planning to run in 2028 should make it explicit: the next DOJ will, in fact, go after you if you’re funding this awful ballroom, or any other pay to play deals you make with this administration

TP USA is trying to run a harassment campaign to get a trans TA fired for giving a crappy paper from one of their students a bad grade.

Attempts to fire trans people from jobs should be seen for what they are--violent attacks on our ability to feed ourselves and stay housed because of who we are.
idk not to mention how very nuanced and normal the actual response here was

"Surely a quick, violent, successful war of aggression is just what the ruler needs to shore up his legitimacy," said just about every failed monarch in history shortly before invading Serbia.
Creating a military conflict with Venezuela gives this administration a legal "hook" to invoke the Alien Enemies Act. In other words, the foreign war is being manufactured in order to facilitate court deference for its domestic mass deportation policy. It's a Stephen Miller Special.
