Are there ANY local game/bookstores within 15 miles of you? Board Game Cafe ideally? They all tend to have bulletin boards full of LFG for dnd etc.
If they got an in-house game, probably paid, it's worth the $15 or whatever just to weed out the chucklefucks.

Now. For a new ststem/setting, that does sound refreshing! Add in a section of player notes/variables that get edited on the fly, and you got a sweet character binder! Cheapass Games style. Just a clip binder. 🤌
