Art before dishes
I recently lost my beloved maple tree in a storm so I took some time to paint her stump today. Just now I thought to myself “I wonder if there is an #artchallenge on BlueSky that this could fit into” and realized the #JuliArty theme today is #maple!? Perfect. RIP Ms Maple. I miss your shade.

Here’s a coneflower I painted in class last night. My grandfather used to paint flowers so I was remembering him while working on it. #smArtist #ArtYear #watercolor

It’s not fall, and it’s not snowing, but it’s #Caturday and I’m curious to see if I can post a photo on loop. Findings in comments.

“20 paintings that have influenced you” challenge. I bought these from a woman for $10. She said her aunt was a nun who traveled the world and liked to bring back small beautiful things. Her name was Sister Grace and she bought these in Italy.

Here’s today’s #MarchIntoLandscapes for the prompt #sprawling. I’m a beginner in a community watercolor class, and I know I’ve mentioned this before, but it is so good for me. Art before dishes, Blueskyans!

#FebruARTy #turquoise

I’m a newbie in a local watercolor class and it is so fun. Here’s a little painting I did last week that has some turquoise in it.

Anyone else completely obsessed with the wallpapers and tile floors on Only Murders in the Building? I do really enjoy the show too.

Bluesky has helped me wean off all other social media platforms and it’s amazing how much better I feel overall. And it’s very cool to be able to connect with a community of creatives, thinkers, and activists here. But my favorite part is that every Saturday is #Caturday!

When we had to quarantine at the start of the pandemic in 2020, my 5-yr-old and I used to turn boxes into rooms and tape them to the outside of our window. Then we would put birdseed on the floor and sit and wait for birds to visit. Here’s our very first visitor — a chickadee! #FebruARTy #ArtYear

Today’s #FebruARTy theme is #eyes. It is hard to get a good photo because this is in a tiny dark corner of my hallway, but you can see I stenciled eyes on the blue wall. All the pottery bird art you see was made by Tonya Rund from Michigan. Stencil from Royal Design Studio.
