Absolutely putrid that no one in the media is talking about the Nobel announcement tomorrow. It's like it's collectively too obscene to be utterable Like alot of other unutterables we've all been asked to somehow ignore for the last two years and beyond

Thanks Sathnam.When I was 12 living in a white part of Wolves but obsessed with Black Music I made the choice between being a racist neanderthal or hanging out with Goldie in Heathtown and becoming immersed in music culture. Wolverhampton was positively cosmopolitan compared to middle England

The Roaring Twenties was the place to see Lloydie and Festus Coxsonne in the 70's. People would travel there just to hear him play " Rainbow Country " by Bob amongst many other tunes that only a select few could get on dub from Jamaica.

They used to promote the dances as soul dances more than Reggae in Soho and the West End as they were always getting shut down by racist police, so alot of times it's reggae artists mixed with Soul like here
