Climate change represents the greatest challenge humanity has ever faced. On it's heels are those various world leaders whose personalities are indistinguishable from Charles Manson.
Great piece of writing. Unfortunately most readers simply won't be able to comprehend it. Consider Greta Thunberg's speeches were at grade level 8 with reading ease of > 60, while IPCC AR6 was at grade 17+ with ease <20. Greta was widely understood; IPCC was not.

I've been away for a couple of weeks caretaking the Valley of the Gods B&B while the owners took vacation. Two weeks with only me and some dogs. I was using my iPad where I had not stored my bSky password. Catching up now.

My current dog, Brite, is approaching 12 years old. She started to show hesitance in siting about 18 months ago. Dx: arthritis. We're still walking 3+ miles daily in the woods. She loves it. Got her at 8 weeks old.

I've had five border collies over the past 35 years. Excellent critters all, and all were rescuers or free gifts.

Schopenhauer put all his money on compassion being the pinnacle of morality: “Compassion for animals is intimately associated with goodness of character, and it may be confidently asserted that he who is cruel to animals cannot be a good man.”

The most commonly used IQ test measure 10-14 types of mental ability, and they are based on factor analysis. The strongest single measure is vocabulary. In my own work I found that defining the word "decade" is nearly perfect in classifying above and below average ability.

I've walked my dogs daily for 20 years, mostly solo. I know every square inch of a square mile of forest. Can't live without it.

Keep walking!

If you get out that way, Valley of the Gods B&B is about 30 miles north, ~ 9 miles outside Mexican Hat. The only structure on 360,000 preserve, built by John D. Lee's grandson, Clarence. My good friends are the owners. Absolute solitude.
