Last week our in press manuscript was made available at @jexpbiol.bsky.social with the typeset version following soon. We conducted ex vivo XROMM experiments to determine the joint mobility in Red legged partridges and compared them with in silico simulations: doi.org/10.1242/jeb....

The #IsleofWight is a world famous dinosaur hotspot... and it's desperately in need of a new museum and Science Park. Help us by signing the petition (either via the QR or at chng.it/4CXPhKLQs2). Watch out for news in the coming weeks :) #dinosaurs

We just published a Giraffatitan tail wagging paper, led by @daniajinn.bsky.social!

Interested in bone-on-bone range of motions? Have a look!

Fun fact: the Jurassic Park's Brachiosaurus was at least partly based on Giraffatitan

Another day, another dinosaur auction.

A world where dinosaur skeletons can fetch tens of millions of dollars within a few minutes at auctions is not a world where dinosaurs will long be accessible to educate and inspire everyone.

My thoughts for @CNN

BEHOLD! One of Earth's greatest lineages of life: the lil wiggle arm guys, Meteora.

These single-celled critters, originally found in deep-sea sediments, are SO DIFFERENT from other lifeforms on Earth that they're likely in their own kingdom (as in, the Animal Kingdom, the Plant Kingdom etc). 🧪🌿

Quite how this dorsal vertebra from #IsleofWight iguanodontian dinosaur Brighstoneus got like this is hard to say. Almost certainly trauma caused a fracture which perhaps was splinted unnaturally by attached tendons so that it healed in this peculiar circular fashion. #FossilFriday

It's been 12 years since I received my PhD, and I still don't have a permanent position and my professional situation hangs more than ever by a thread, even though I have a more than competent CV. I'm tired of collecting achievements that seem to be worthless. The current academic system is rubbish.
