This mushroom is a beauty, although it has a sinister name: Trumpet of Death.

The photo shows two mushrooms of the Craterellus cornucopioides species, commonly known as death trumpets or horns of plenty, growing on a forest floor.
The mushrooms have a distinctive funnel- or trumpet-like shape, a brownish-black color, and are surrounded by green grass and fallen, dry brown and yellow leaves.

Several pale orange or yellow seed capsules are visible. The capsules have a bell-shaped or urn-like shape and are located at the top of thin, dry stems. Some of the capsules have remnants of dried petals or sepals attached to the base.
Fine webs or silk filaments can be seen extending between the stems and the capsules. The stems are dry and light brown.
