Retired principal engineer. Who is quite willing to bore you with how communication systems work. And old computer history, at least the parts I was involved in.

Here to read what some of my favorite authors write.

My great aunt in 1913 when she was two. She died a couple of months later from a random childhood disease.

Mom’s older sister died from the measles when she was 17 in 1941.

Let’s not do this again.

And occasionally Osprey want sushi wraps. Though this isn’t nori.

The bird was proud of its catch. Spent about 5 minutes flying in circles showing off to its siblings before landing to eat.

They already accepted Osprey. Which don’t walk/stalk around on shore. A heron at least does that.

And Osprey occasionally get pissed at Bald Eagles fishing in their territory. Osprey won, the eagle flew away. Though it kept its catch.

Watch a heron hunt and you will believe they descended from dinosaurs.

Movie you’ve watched more than six times using gifs.

Taken while walking along the Columbia River. It just seemed right.

Note: you may have to click on the image to see all of it. And that helps explain it.

I’m doomed. R2 would help if I could understand him.

My aunt Rosalind, Mom’s older sister. She is 17 in the photo.

She caught the measles and died before graduating HS.

I don’t want to go back to that.

“I’m a ramblin’ wreck from Golden Tech, a helluva engineer.“

Note: Attended, left to start a SW company.

If you see this, post a pic of mountains.

I’m an engineer. Which is why I hired an interior decorator when I bought my house. Cabinets and floor are original to the house. I love the natural wood through the house. Counter tops and splash guard are new.

Old pic. It’s much messier since I moved in.

This very happy Osprey spent five minutes or so flying in circles carrying the fish they had just caught. They finally landed on a pylon in the water and had their lunch.

This is along the north bank of the Columbia River in Vancouver, WA. Looking SE toward the Portland Airport.

I read it when it came out. So the advanced tech felt normal and still does (I read it again a few years ago).

I also loved this book. Of course I used to program in Forth.

I had film pictures of this 40+ years ago. Don’t have digital copies so I’ll use someone else’s photo.

Bristlecone pines in the Rocky Mountains are up to 5000 years old. Bent over due to the continual winds.

Back then I never would have guessed I would move to the Portland area.

I love the clouds in your photos. Beautiful.

A picture I took in Rocky Mountain National Park, June 2010. At somewhere around 11,000 feet. The storm blew through quickly. And fortunately no lightning, which is scary at high elevations.
