Ah, that makes sense, the person I saw working was pulling out a bundle of electronics. But if functional infrastructure like that can also double to prevent illegal/antisocial parking

That's a win.

I didn't see it up but someone in hiviz sat inspecting it. Can't remember if it was inwards this morning or homeward this evening(!) I think latter.

Could have sworn I saw someone working on it earlier today.

Why don't you invite her on the podcast?

It won't help him win the Ronde.

Yep, park and ride 400 went past us yesterday with "bus full" and still 6 stops before high street.

I'm old enough to remember when Social Media was internet forums (& the tyranny of the human moderators 🙃).

I think I simply defer to the adage technology doesn't make things necessarily better (or worse), it just makes them faster.

Yes, this is in plenty of places. My personal unfavourite is Ock Street Abingdon, right past the parking bays by the multiple takeaway outlets.. the cycle lane is basically telling you where not to ride..

Your mother warned you against that sort of thing.

Yeah, I should point out this is registered users rather than active, but consensus is X/Twitter user stats massively pumped by bots..

True, I was thinking in the simple terms of slowing motor vehicles down.

Obviously absolute numbers matter but interesting to see pentration for the respective platforms, I speculate there's a demographic correlation.
November 28, 2025 at 6:44 PM
Here you go! User stats (2025) from Statista (bar BS which is from themselves)

Likes per million UK users:
TikTok - 1953
Instagram - 1334
Bluesky - 531
Facebook - 158
X - 56

(not including LTNs 😁)

Interesting! But being a data pedant, I'd like to also see it normalised to total platform user numbers.

Seven Labour MPs were suspended for opposing the benefit cap last year! When are they going to get an apology??
