I know. It's not they weren't good BECAUSE they weren't about Eric. They failed because they cribbed from the series but weren't faithful to it. Salvation took the bones of the Lazarus Heart but not what made it a good story. They're going back to Eric because that was the last successful movie.

I get why they went back to the well that is the original character. (The sequels weren't well received and only bastardized whatever sources they used.) BUT there is so much more they could do instead. The time is right for an accurate adaptation of Poppy Z Brite's "The Lazarus Heart." Or, this!

Colleen is a fantastic artist. And her collaborations with @neilhimself.neilgaiman.com on his stories are always worth a read/look. She's working on the Graphic Novel adaptation of Good Omens and it's looking amazing! She also contributed to Little Earthquakes the Tori Amos adapation.
