I dislike the stormtroopers at the escape pod. I had a tape recording of the theatrical release that I listened to a million times. In the original there were several music beats, then a dewback noise, then more music. The current scene kills that rhythm

The Star Wars radio drama covered some of this. Leia gave R2 the coordinates to Obi-Wan, and he played part of her message to get Luke to remove his restraining bolt. He also fiddled with R5 so his motivator would blow so he'd be bought.
