Homeless mentally disabled author. I was married to my late husband for 12 years. I’m HIV+ and faithful to his memory. Mostly vegan, but I don’t turn down mutual aid. I cycle across California, recycling and writing. Please read my books and blog. Thanks.

It looks like they shut down the flow of the river upstream. The water people do that. It’s annoying. Good thing I washed my clothes earlier.

I spent the morning here charging my solar generator. It looks pretty, but the water moves so slow here this time of year, that the bugs are unbearable.

Has anyone tried these? Peanut butter cups are my favorite candy, but finding the vegan ones is often time-consuming and expensive. I have a bag of them in my cart at Target. I guess I’ll find out how they are when I get my SSI tonight. #Vegan

The Kern River tonight.

The Last Herald Mage trilogy. by Mercedes Lackey. It was there for me when I was learning who I was. It is still my go-to trilogy when I need a tear-jerker that kind of feels good too.🌈📚

Here’s proof, asshole.

Good Morning from under the bridge. I took this pic last night.

Eating some beans and orzo (ikr, but it’s what I have left over) under the freeway bridge. I’d have to call today a good day. Got enough recycling to eat tomorrow and a good spot to lay out my sleeping bag, and that’s all I really need. That’s all any of us really need. Freedom. Here’s the moon.

Listening to folk punk as I ride the empty, seemingly endless bike path.

Good evening from under the bridge. It’s a great day to slaughter a pig. #ACAB

Just rode out of the Kern River Canyon. It’s good to have internet access again.

I awoke this morning determined to start my day without caffeine. Then an oasis came into view. I hate being so reliant upon capitalism every so often.

I've ridden twenty-three miles out and nine hundred feet up. I'm calling it a day. Found a stand of trees that should be private enough. It's right in the middle of the rich folk, but I think it's pretty well hidden.

As I sit here at the northeast end of the Kern River Parkway bike path, I look back and see a part of me. This is where the love of cycling got me. This is where I have been training for more than a year. Now, if all goes according to plan, it will be 6 months before I ride it again. I'll miss it.

Good morning, good breakfast. A little vegan meal of oats, date syrup, and peanut butter. The date syrup is easier to carry on the road than sugar, and it’s more nutritious than agave syrup. Have a great day, everyone.

Enjoying a little midnight campfire. I was awoken by a Great Horned Owl honking right next to my tent. Now I guess I’ll make the best of it.

Just cooked dinner under a weeping sky: split peas with instant white rice. Not the pinnacle of nutrition, but in the rain, with fuel supplies uncertain, we make do.

Stone houses make Stoney hearts. My abode for the night. I pitched my tent just in time. Here comes the rain.

I told the system of landlords and the pay-for-housing system to get stuffed this week. As of now, I am officially homeless. Feels good, man. I refuse to pay exorbitant prices for what should be a basic human right. I'll take my chances as a nomad.
