Now that he's out I'm hoping the gag order on city staff responding to questions about what's happening with LWB is lifted. As someone who served on the official SDOt LWB work group, I can't get my emails responded to, questions about the status of SIDEWALK REPAIRS.
He slow-walked investment in SE Seattle or stood in the way entirely. Thank @tammymorales.bsky.social for safer streets in the South End, even in the face of Bruce. If not for him, all of our investments would have been reality, including home zones, school streets, LWB, & more hardened bike lanes.

The bike lane barriers installed in D2 were installed because @tammymorales.bsky.social put a proviso on ~$2M in 2023 to add concrete protection to every lane mile in D2.

Without that proviso only ~1 mile of bike lane on D2 would have concrete protection.
For the record, I’m certainly no fan of Harrell. I voted against him (twice) long before it was cool.

But if you deny that he built a ton of high-quality bike infrastructure over the past four years, you’re being obtuse.

I sincerely hope Wilson builds more

Yeah. I lived in SE Seattle and voted against him in his two city council elections because he opposed bike lanes on both Rainier and MLK.

Neither of those streets have bike lanes in their futures. Harrell is pro bikes everywhere he doesn’t live.

Shocked, SHOCKED that Tom Graf who penned “The zesty, bustling jumble of vendors, pedestrians, slow moving cars and delivery vehicles is what makes the Market unique and genuine” opposes bollards

SDOT just announced they'll be completing the final block of the Beach Drive SW Healthy Street on Alki Point, finally connecting the multiuse path to 63rd Ave SW. This block was not included in the original project, installed in 2024.

Work will start before the end of the year.

During public comment, someone asserted the fact that sales in the Market are slightly up year-over-year was evidence that the pedestrianized Pike Place is hurting businesses, because sales should be up MORE after the opening of the Overlook Walk.
bsky.app/profile/gord...
Good news: Sales at Pike Place Market were up 9.7% in September! That's four months of solid data showing the pedestrianization pilot is good for business.

Something that surprised me about Copenhagen: there are A LOT of cars on wide streets in the center city, and the pedestrian infrastructure is really quite bad.
November 12, 2025 at 8:24 PM
Traffic calming on a street in Copenhagen. The two lane road narrows to one lane several times on this long block, with curbed barriers (either bollards or trees) to enforce. The wide bike lanes are uninterrupted.

This! @wabikes.bsky.social and @t4wa.bsky.social could have just *not endorsed* in this race but their boards made an active decision to endorse Harrell. They cannot be trusted to support their own mission.
If i was an org I'd simply never endorse a politician who is actively hostile to my central mission (example: Harrell's personal intervention in removing proposed safety measures on Lk WA Blvd) but then i'm not a political brane genious like the WA Bikes people

I will also note that it’s one thing to make a throwaway endorsement. Annoying, but maybe not huge.

But it’s certainly A Choice to *buy* 5-figure glossy mailer campaigns - worth 31% of the PAC budget - on behalf of the harassment candidate.

Nearly 1,100 days after safety advocates painted a guerrilla crosswalk at Harvard Ave E and E Olive Way (and SDOT washed it off), there is now a permanent crosswalk here.

SEATTLE!!!

We’ve now taken the lead by 91 votes! 🤯 This thing is certainly not over! Over 1,000 ballots have been challenged, so if you haven’t tracked your ballot yet get on it! Our trusty volunteers have been working hard to "cure" ballots so they count! We're so close!

Rode in one of these today with @sassyarmand.bsky.social! It still had that new train smell. Didn't know it was *this* new!
Talgo 230 trains today started official commercial service in Denmark and Germany in the Copenhagen-Hamburg route served by Denmark state rail operator DSB

This landmark development happens just two weeks after the formal acceptance of the first units

The model of holding individual senators responsible is broken here. The retirees clearly agreed to take the fall. Which is why the nos should get no credit for voting no unless they move to oust Schumer
