I can’t help but think this does little to aid those of us on the sensible side of politics. When a venerable institution like the BBC, long accused of leaning left, distorts events of such seriousness, it corrodes public trust and lends weight to every charge of bias.

Watching certain leaders today, one cannot help but recall Charles I, a man who cloaked ambition in divine right and defied the law, only to meet his reckoning. Power unrestrained by conscience has never led to glory, only to ruin. #NoKings

Elon Musk’s xAI just launched Grokipedia, an AI-run version of Wikipedia with no human editors. It gives him power not just over how information spreads, but over what information exists in the first place. When one person controls information, who controls the truth? ‼️ ⚠️

I posted this 8 months ago and it’s aged far too well. Every new “temporary” restriction, every silenced critic, every shift of power justified by fear… it’s all happening in real time. The slow slide into authoritarianism never announces itself, it just asks for your quiet compliance.
Dictatorship doesn’t happen overnight. It slips in during crises, disguised as “temporary” emergency measures that never go away. Little by little, institutions weaken, critics are silenced, and power tightens its grip. The real danger to democracy isn’t force it’s people looking the other way.

Powerful, grubby men using their connections to cover their abuse of a trafficked teenage girl.

After all the revelations, it's never "not" shocking.

When a reporter asked a young U.S. soldier at Hamburger Hill what message he’d send to people 50 years in the future, he said: “Don’t send your sons to finish what politicians start. Over fifty years on, the lesson still stands the cost of political ego is always paid in young lives.

I’m reading Nuclear War: A Scenario by Annie Jacobsen and it’s honestly terrifying. The U.S. still keeps a “launch on warning” policy, meaning nuclear weapons can be fired before an incoming strike even lands. One radar glitch, one bad call, and it’s all over. This book makes it feel scarily real. 😱

Prince Andrew gives up his royal title. Brilliant, now if he could also give up the privilege, the taxpayer-funded security, and finally accept that long-overdue invitation from the FBI for a little ‘chat’ in the U.S.

Malta became independent on this day back in 1964 🇲🇹 After centuries under British rule, the island finally stood on its own. They still celebrate it today as Independence Day, a proud moment in their history. Today, the UK and Malta enjoy a close friendship through the Commonwealth & tourism.

Brexit’s hit hard, especially for small businesses stuck following EU rules we can’t influence anymore. Rejoining isn’t just about trade—it’s about having a say in decisions that still affect us. Rejoining means shaping policies we follow anyway. Let’s talk—our silence only deepens our isolation.

I’m worried that the exodus from Meta and Twitter is what they want. To isolate us from each other.

Isolation is a big part of autocracy. It makes people easier to lie to and abuse.

What happens if a NATO country annexes another? A U.S. move on Canada could fracture NATO, testing its principles of mutual defense. With a smaller population (40M vs. 335M) and military (70K vs. 1.39M), Canada would have to lean on allies 🤷‍♂️…The world gets crazier by the day! 🤯
