No windows to the outside..just over the stairs, which are to the left looking at my pic. We were trying to work out but think the bed headboard is against the room that was supposedly blocked off.

I believe so. Certainly the room of the window you show 😊. Mostly okay but odd couple of moments with the doors, particularly to the bathroom, opening unexpectedly.
