I've been drawing inspiration from illuminated manuscripts lately...

Griffins are fabulous beasts, sharing the symbolic wisdom of the eagle and strength of the lion; the meeting of heaven and earth, the human and the divine. What sort of transcendent secrets does it keep?

Here's my interpretation of an anthropomorphic griffin/gryphon with a unique blend of the typical features, featuring a stronger lean towards leonine aspects. Furry lion ears, pink pawpads on silver furred hind legs and a long filigree tail, great stormcloud-grey wings, and hands/forearms like talons. The negative space around the creature is filled by stylized floral illustrations of flax.
