Centering men and positioning a man as the saviour within a narrative like Ophelia, a story about a woman destroyed by patriarchy, is fucking travesty. What TS had done with this song and this album mirrors a familiar dynamic: white conservative women reinforcing the very hierarchies that harm them and leaving other women behind. I can't see how people can't see it. It's diabolical. Like I said, centering a man in this song is nauseating. She can't keep selling empowerment while writing from a place of submission and framing your worth through male validation. No one gets to gaslight us and call that feminism. And I don't think it's accidental. I think she did it for Joe Alwyn. 'Look at me, look at me, l've found love!' To me it's a performance of heart break in disguise. The irony is not lost on me that Joe is playing Laertes (Ophelia's brother) in the 2025 film of Hamlet. The symbolism writes itself. I genuinely don't know how people can't see it. It's a very catchy tune, l actually really like it musically which makes it all even more infuriating. This could have been an amazing
