A couple of Wren photos from Magor Marsh NR (Gwent Wildlife Trust) yesterday. One led me on a merry game of hide-and-seek and nearly won! 🙂 (30.11.25) #birdingwales #ukwildlife #birds

Well what a beautiful morning it was today. Took a trip to Gwent WT Magor Marsh, and enjoyed a good walk. The pond was quiet at first, but as the sun got around and warmed things a little it was nice to watch the Little Grebe, Teal and Gadwall emerge. (30.11.25) #birdingwales #ukwildlife #birds

Yes, spent a couple of weeks holiday in the North East and enjoyed seeing several sea birds I hadn't seen in the South West. Fabulous watching juvenile Gannet during one beach walk, where they were diving into the sea.

Made the most of a nice sunny Friday morning with a walk from Portishead sea front, to Battery Point, through East Wood and the marina, and on to Portbury Wharf Nature Reserve. Having a flock of Long-tailed Tit land nearby while at PWNR was a delight. (28.11.25) #bristolbirding #birds #ukwildlife

Today's #BirdOfTheDay theme (set by @robcrank68.bsky.social) is #Gannets - here's some seen at RSPB Bempton Cliffs Nature Reserve, East Riding of Yorkshire. Only been there once (a long long way from home), but it is such a fabulous place to watch from. (16.09.25) #birds #ukwildlife

Song Thrush enjoying a berry breakfast at Lamplighter's Marsh NR (Bristol), yesterday morning. They're such attractive birds, but can at times be difficult to see, vanishing into undergrowth. All the better to enjoy though when there's good opportunity to observe them. (26.11.25) #birds #ukwildlife

That moment when you realise the flock of Goldfinch you thought you were watching, turn out to include Linnet. They weren't still for long, but about 8 Goldfinch and 3 Linnet. Lamplighters Marsh NR, Bristol. 26.11.25 #bristolbirding #ukwildlife

This wrestless Treecreeper was a delight to see at WWT Llanelli Wetland Centre a few days ago. Actually only seen clearly for just a few seconds, constantly moving - so pleased to get a photo (I won't post the other images of empty branches! 🙂). 20.11.25 #birdingwales #ukwildlife

Lucky sighting; Water Rail at WWT Slimbridge, usually tucked away in reeds but quite happy rummaging around beneath trees. Whatever grub it found, care was taken to give it a wash before consuming! Watched this happen a couple of times. Lovely understated bird. 21.11.25 #glosbirds #birds #ukwildlife

On the #BirdOfTheDay theme of #least (set by @alan678.bsky.social ) - this Temminck's Stint is the least I have seen/photographed. A small bird (especially when compared to the Shelduck), it's a rare UK visitor and I saw my one and only one 3 days ago at WWT Slimbridge! (07.11.25) #ukwildlife #birds

Lamplighters Marsh NR (Bristol) this morning. A nice close fly past from a Grey Heron on the River Avon, and lovely to watch a famale Stonechat. (09.11.25) #avonbirds #ukwildlife #birds

For today’s #BirdOfTheDay theme of #lunchtime (set by @alan678.bsky.social ) - I've selected a Herring Gull enjoying a rat! I saw the gull flying with something heavy, but didn't realise what it's lunchtime treat was at first... New Passage, Severn Estuary. Sept. 2024. #birds #ukwildlife #avonbirds
