I hear you, but I think it matters that Carney has pulled the party further right, and I do think he's accomplishing a lot of Conservative goals. Even the arbitrary rolling back of a feminist foreign policy is a bizarre move. The Conservatives will be backed into a somehow weirder corner.

Not saying they're equivalent, but the policy agenda is one the Conservatives dream about, and easier to facilitate with less opposition. It's a conservative government, whether or not the Conservatives themselves appreciate it, which I also think will inevitably force them further right.

Maybe, but it doesn't seem like Guilbeault remaining in the position was making any difference. The conservatives are already effectively in government when it comes to Carney's energy and economic policies.
