We are reaching the point where we need to clean the internet of all the old rubbish. I asked a Q about formatting a website using a particular modern tool & the top result was a page from nearly 17 years ago, which is completely out of date. Out of date answers frequently pop up these days.

I really think the govt should pass a law requiring all people depicted in advertising, whether political or not, to be real. They should add an extra part that people in political adverts may not be paid for their participation.

This shit really pisses me off - it's one of those little things that shouldn't exist but does because companies are dickheads. Here The Athletic has started emailing me junk about American sports I couldn't care less about. I can't unsubscribe though because they claim they aren't emailing me!!!!

Amazon knows my name, they send me stuff with my name on it all the time. If I ask Alexa who I am it'll say "Nick", but because my initials are NC it insists that the account owner is "North Carolina". It is mildly infuriating.

Frankly you can probably go somewhere nicer for the same or less money. Here Pizza Hut want £30 for a pepperoni pizza while Pizza Express are charging £21.40. I know everyone gets a deal but who actually enjoys wading through all the offers to try & get somewhere close to the real price.

Just looking at Google Maps for something and saw this blast from the past. If you look closely at the right hand side of the window I'm pretty sure you can see me sitting at the reception desk!!

Yes, the BP station is on the opposite side and not very far away. This is a photo from Google Maps of the car park, which has been there for quite a while now and is ready to open the moment the access road is built.

The irony is that the car park and chargers are already there, all that the council are refusing to allow is the road that connects the car park to the A40. I think Clarkson may have a point about the attitude of West Oxfordshire Council.

I think they mean one of these. I encountered this one in the UK in 2016 - apparently their normal card machine was broken so they had to make a trip back to ye olden days. I did have to make the occasional call for authorisation to process cards when I worked in a shop at uni. Seems v weird now.
