I think the challenge for Europe if they step up to replace the funding gap left by the U.S aid pause will largely be in regards to air defense capabilities as well as GMLRS and guided rockets.

Artillery shell gaps can largely be compensated for but ABM capabilities can’t in any short term way.

I can’t tell why some people think a few ATACMS strikes will cause a wider war or a nuclear response when Ukraine literally poured tens of thousands of men into a successful invasion of Russia and they didn’t do anything about it.

While it remains true that Ukraine will need to mobilize a lot of additional personnel. We need to look at what we can do in the west to support that mobilization and even increase the number of new volunteers joining the Ukrainian military. As well as help them make best use of existing units.
