"Maybe" it's an unpopular opinion? I can already hear the howls.

Significantly, this is very much a rank-based issue. Contingent faculty are probably much more open to this sort of thing. I suspect that TT folk, though, would generally (but absolutely) refuse.

A few of my students have already seen it, and highly recommended it!

Well, we can now talk about the AWARD-WINNING PBS series "Renegades." Not only did the series itself win four Telly Awards, but their Judy-Lynn episode received a Silver award in the biography category.

I saw this and thought for a second it was the Mary Renault novel, whom I'm now teaching!

I didn't actually read LotR until I was 25, too ...and hated it! (It took until I re-read it at 32 to change my mind.)

For Last Unicorn, I teach that in my fantasy fiction class .... and my students, amazingly, were NOT down with Molly Grue. "She made her choices!" so much for lit--> empathy, lol.

Had you never read The Last Unicorn before? omg, it's the bestest.

I did like AFPP, but it's also written by a 20-year-old (and heavily edited by Marshall Best over at Viking). Lot of promise, but that's mostly it.

that seems so typical about a certain kind of teaching philosophy. They clearly have no idea how many of their students are actually using GenAI. 2/2

"If you can get a staff member of the store to kiss you, then you will be in the direct succession of Walt Whitman’s kiss, which flows from Walt to ... one of the founders of Giovanni’s Room."

And this is from their official website!!!!

Ha. That's like when Thoreau said that he had a library of 800 volumes, 700 of which he wrote himself (from some returns on his first book).

True ... but I wonder if that's because Protestantism is so much harder to pinpoint than Catholicism is.

Narnia and Thomas Covenant are both v. Prot fantasy. B-sands is very Mormon .....
