As horrible it is that there such vile behaviour is not just tolerated, but rewarded on Twitter now, that’s not real life and as long women keep doing cool shit like this it never will be. Congrats Dr. Turner, your accomplishments are amazing and should be celebrated.

Government should be involved in every part of your life (note “involved in” =/= interfering with). In fact, I challenge anyone to list any aspect of their life government is not involved in already.

I don’t know anything beyond what was reported on when the story originally broke (didn’t follow the case at all and don’t really care), but I’m willing to bet if there is any substance to her appeal a decent amount will relate to media coverage and practices.

That’s not how appellate cases work. Her lawyers can’t introduced new evidence or arguments, they can only argue that the original trial was flawed enough to overturn the outcome.

This is one of the toughest fights in the game. You’ll get there though (and the rewards are bountiful).
